SoftBank to Buy Fortress Investment Group for $3.3 Billion

Nizar Al-Bassam and Dalinc Ariburnu of FAB Partners arranged the Fortress transaction and will continue to advise SoftBank with respect to the firm. SoftBank Group agreed to buy asset manager Fortress Investment Group LLC for $3.3 billion, in a surprising move that is part of an effort by the Japanese technology giant to transform itself into one of the world’s largest investment firms.

CIFC to be acquired by FAB PARTNERS for $333 million in cash

NEW YORK and JERSEY – August 19, 2016 – CIFC LLC (NASDAQ: CIFC), a U.S. private debt investment manager, and FAB Partners (“FAB”), an alternative investment platform, today announced that CIFC and an affiliate of FAB have entered into a definitive merger agreement under which FAB will acquire CIFC for approximately $333 million in cash.
